Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, organised a Financial Literacy Workshop for students to enhance their understanding of personal financial management and informed financial decision-making.

Chandigarh, September 23, 2026: Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, organised a Financial Literacy Workshop for students to enhance their understanding of personal financial management and informed financial decision-making.
The workshop was conducted by Rajneesh Sood from National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE)having more than 35 years of experience in the banking sector. He provided students with practical insights into the importance of saving, various investment avenues, financial planning, and loan facilities. He also explained the need for responsible borrowing and developing sound financial habits from an early stage. More than 75 students from UG and PG classes attended the workshop.
The interactive session encouraged students to understand the importance of financial independence and effective management of their personal finances.
To reinforce the learning, an engaging financial literacy quiz was conducted at the end of the workshop. Students participated enthusiastically, and prizes were awarded to the winners.
Principal Prof. Sudha Katyal appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of equipping students with financial knowledge and skills for a secure and financially responsible future.
