Film 'Life on the Edge' produced by DLCSUPVA to be screened at the 43rd Busan International Short Film Festival
The film 'Life on the Edge,' produced by Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), has been selected for the 43rd Busan International Short Film Festival (BISFF). 'Life on the Edge' will be screened at BISFF, which begins in South Korea on April 23. It depicts the social and economic struggles of a family during the lockdown.
Rohtak, January 30, 2026: The film 'Life on the Edge,' produced by Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), has been selected for the 43rd Busan International Short Film Festival (BISFF). 'Life on the Edge' will be screened at BISFF, which begins in South Korea on April 23. It depicts the social and economic struggles of a family during the lockdown.
‘Life on the Edge’ has been selected in the short film category of the Asia category, said Mahesh TP, FC Film and Television Department. The short film, prepared by the students of DLC SUPVA, has been directed by Abhishek Dixit and cinematography done by Janhvi Goel. It is edited by Dupinder Kaur and sound design by Akshay Allawadhi.
Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik Manocha said that BISFF was started in 1980. It is recognized as the longest-running Korean Short Film Festival, with 150 short films from around the world being screened.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said that students' hard work is starting to gain recognition at the national and international levels. The selection of 'Life on the Edge' for screening at BISFF is a matter of pride for the SUPVA family. It is also inspiring for other students. He mentioned that the story of 'Life on the Edge' is based on a family whose members used to work as labourers and lost their jobs during the lockdown. As the family faced a financial crisis, they started making undergarments. All family members worked together on this task, and eventually, a company was established, which also included relatives and acquaintances.
VC Dr. Arya said that the mutual cooperation, passion for work, and skills of the members of this family become an inspiration for others as well. They face all obstacles with determination and continue to progress in society with respect. He said that DLCSUPVA is providing its students with facilities and resources at Bollywood and Hollywood standards, so that they can bring fame to the university and the state both nationally and internationally.
