Chandigarh, December 27, 2013: Punjab Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi clarified that the citizen could only claim 10 per cent rebate on the filling of property tax up till December 31, 2013 and this date would not be extended in any case. He appealed the citizens to furnish the genuine information while filling the property tax.
He said that no rebate would be given to anybody, who filed Property Return between January 1, 2014 to January 31, 2014 and 10 percent penalty would be imposed after February 1, 2014. “Property Return to be filed only once in a year so citizens should file it in time” he added.
He further clarified that Government is collecting property tax on pre- decided fixed rates and people should not trust any news regarding revised rates of property tax.
