FICO to develop 11 Micro Forests in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, March 8, 2022: EcoSikh in association with FICO (Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization) launched “The Lungs of Ludhiana” mission to make Ludhiana the greenest city of Asia by planting 1 million-tree micro forests. 

“The Lungs of Ludhiana” discussed about the ecological imbalance of Ludhiana, and to create a road map for increasing the Forest Cover based on the EcoSikh’s Sacred Forest project. Over 100 industrialists, local residential groups, and women groups from Ludhiana joined to plan their CSR and other investments towards ecological restoration. 

Ludhiana is left with mere 1.3% of forest cover and it will take only 100 acres of land to plant 1 million trees. The micro forests by Miyawaki technique is one of the best and cheapest way to make Ludhiana the greenest, best AQI city in the ASIA, said Dr. Rajwant Singh Founder and President of EcoSikh, USA. 

Gurmeet Singh Kular President FICO announced 11 micro forests will be planted by FICO to start with.

Radhika Gupta, FICCI FLO expressed, “We spend a lot on birthdays but, gifting a forest to our sons and daughters is the new way to celebrate their birthdays, and I am all for it.
