FICO thanks PPCB for extending VDS upto Feb 28; demands for Shatabadi

Ludhiana, February 13, 2013: Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organisation (FICO) president Gurmeet Singh Kular has thanked Ravinder Singh, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board, for extending VDS upto February 28 this year.
He was addressing a meeting of FICO. KK Seth, Chairman, FICO said that it is a big relief to the industry & now industry should avail this golden opportunity because now the industry will pay fee only for 3 years instead of 15 to 18 years.
He said that the online consent for micro & small industries should be exempted because they do not have the computers. To facilitate the industry he further demanded that in mixed land use area without CLU & NOC, industry should  get consents because in mixed land use area industry is running from last 20 years & in master plan industry can be establish up to 2018.
Jagatvir Singh Jaswal, Satnam Singh Makkar, Varun Gupta, Manjinder Singh Sachdeva, Rajiv Jain, Rajnish Gupta and Harpal Singh Bhamber were among those present.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement Kular has stated that there is very poor Air Connectivity from Ludhiana to Delhi and there is a demand for Shatabadi but this time also Ludhiana could not get it in the interim Railway Budget. He added freight corridor should also be focused but nothing has been done.
Trains from Bihar & UP should be up to Dhandari Railway Station to decongestation the overloaded Ludhiana Railway Station but this demand was also not considered.
