FICO demands uninterrupted power supply in coming foggy season 

Ludhiana: Today, a delegation of Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization (FICO), under the leadership of Shri Gurmeet Singh Kular President FICO met and welcomed Jagdeep Singh, executive engineer of PSPCL Focal Point Special Division. FICO discussed the issues seeking immediate action. The issues were as under

Uninterrupted Power Supply to the Industry: Un-interrupted Power Supply is the basic need of the Industry, PSPCL should ensure the uninterrupted power supply especially in Industrial Areas & Focal Points, as in industry power is the one of major Raw Material, even offices are interrupted. FICO requested the chief engineer to provide the un-interrupted power supply to the industry.
 
Restoration of G.O. Switch: The concept of General Over Switch should be restored at least for the industrial units in Ludhiana. The General Over Switches are those switches which are installed between the Transformer & the Industrial Unit, if any fatal error occurs the G.O. Switch trips and shut the supply of that particular industrial unit, prevents the electrical equipment’s of factory as well as the transformer, additionally it also prevents the power tripping of the neighboring units.

Preventive Measures in Foggy Weather: It has been demanded that the PSPCL should work on the preventive measures for uninterrupted power supply in this foggy season, as it was experienced last year, the industry in focal points & Industrial Areas of Ludhiana faced poor supply more than 8 tripping per day were observed in focal point, Basically Industry got the Electricity for only 2 to 3 hours a day, which was a huge loss to the industry.
 
Fast Release of Pending Power Connections: FICO demanded that all the pending power connections should be released with immediate effect to felicitate the industry.
 
Coordination Committee: On the grounds of the coordination committee formed in Janta Nagar Special Division,  FICO requested the executive engineer to form the coordination committee in Focal Point Special Division for faster redressals.
