FICO demanded rollback on new diesel procurement restrictions for industries

Ludhiana, June 17, 2026: A meeting of Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization (FICO) held under the leadership of Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, FICO along with Gagnish Singh Khurana Head FICO Agricultural Implements Division, demanded immediate Rollback on New Diesel Procurement Restrictions for Industries.
The recently notified Motor Spirit and High-Speed Diesel (Temporary Regulation of Supply through Retail Outlets) Order, 2026. The restriction on industrial and commercial consumers from procuring diesel through retail outlets and the limit of 200 litres per vehicle per day has severely impacted industrial operations, particularly MSMEs. Most industries rely on retail fuel stations for their daily diesel requirements as they do not possess their own consumer pumps or fuel storage infrastructure.
FICO urged the Government to reconsider the notification, withdraw the restrictions imposed on industries, as the Strait of Hormoz, has been opened for transit yesterday. The countries like Canada have reduced the fuel price by 20 Cents per liter, that is 19 Indian Rupee per liter. The government should immediately rollback the restrictions along with passing on the benefits of reduced price.
Amongst Present were Satya Pal Saini and Surinder Pal Singh Executive Members FICO.
