FICO demanded 100 per cent surveillance and night patrolling in industrial areas and focal points

Ludhiana, April 18, 2022: A delegation of FICO (Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization) under the leadership of K.K. Seth Chairman and Gurmeet Singh Kular President, FICO met the new Commissioner of Police Kaustubh Sharma and discussed in detail about the issues related to the industrial security. The issues discussed were as under:

100% Surveillance of Industrial Areas & Focal Points:
The robbery incidents with migrant labourers are on the rise in Industrial Areas & Focal Point in Ludhiana. Employers and employees are on the move in Focal Points but there is nothing at the name of surveillance. We request you to keep the Industrial Areas & Focal Points under 100% Surveillance Areas of the City. Moreover, Labourers are being robbed, and the hard-earned money, mobile phones and other valuables are being looted from the poor laborers. Industry is already facing Shortage of Labour, industry needs peace for its growth.

More Vigilance on Pay & Advance Days:
There is a special need to keep the PCR more vigilant on Pay days every month i.e. 07th to 10th & 22nd to 25th of every Month, as the robbery incidents are more on these days, with higher level of vigilance on Pay & Advance Days will result in better and safer environment for the labourers.

Night Patrolling:
The schedules are important but the safety comes first, it is requested to kindly start the night patrolling in industrial areas & focal points, as there are industries working 24 hours a day, the night patrolling will reduce the chance of crimes to occur.

Police Halt Point:
The Police Halt points should also be set up in every Phase of Focal Points, so that in case of emergency the industry as well as PCR can get in touch without delay and the necessary steps can be taken care off well in time. There is also a need to increase the number of PCR Vans in Industrial Areas and industrial Focal points of Ludhiana.

Safe City Project:
We request you to kindly connect all the CCTV Cameras installed in the industrial areas & industrial focal points of Ludhiana can be centralized with the Police Control Room, so as to provide more surveillance, so that the cases of robbery will fall steeply.

Disputes regarding Intellectual Property Rights:
It has been observed that many disputes related to Intellectual property rights arises in the industrial fraternity, to which even the police officials have limited knowledge, so it is requested to form a committee to look after the intellectual property rights disputes which must have the members from the industrial associations as well.

The delegation also said that if some incidence happens the police hesitates to lodge the FIR, to which Kaustubh Sharma said designates an ADCP rank officer to look the matter related to industrial security, and he will make sure that the complaints must be lodged in time.

Amongst present were Gurmeet Singh Kular President FICO, Manjinder Singh Sachdeva Senior Vice President FICO, Rajeev Jain General Secretary FICO and Satnam Singh Makkar Propaganda Secretary FICO.
