FICO celebrated International MSME Day, and awarded 2 Entrepreneurs

Today Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization (FICO) celebrated MSME Day in association with MSME DFO at MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Ludhiana; Deepak Chechi Assistant Director MSME DFO, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest on the Occasion along with Krishan Kumar Assistant Director MSME DFO was the guest of Honor. Around 60 entrepreneurs attended the Session.

Ludhiana, June 27, 2025: Today Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization (FICO) celebrated MSME Day in association with MSME DFO at MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Ludhiana; Deepak Chechi Assistant Director MSME DFO, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest on the Occasion along with Krishan Kumar Assistant Director MSME DFO was the guest of Honor. Around 60 entrepreneurs attended the Session.  

FICO awarded two entrepreneurs for their outstanding achievements: Vipan Mittal of Kudu Knit Process Private Limited (Textiles); and Harjeet Singh Saggu of Jeet Fasteners (Fasteners).

Gurmeet Singh Kular President congratulated all MSME Units across the Country and said The United Nations General Assembly on 6 April 2017 designated 27 June as “MSME Day" to raise awareness of the tremendous contributions of MSMEs. MSME Day was not only an acknowledgment of the significant contribution made by MSMEs to the global economy but also honour of their role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They promote innovation, creativity, and decent work for all.
 
K.K. Seth Chairman FICO said that The MSMEs are providing financial independence to the most vulnerable section of our society. Based on available data, MSMEs employee more 11 crore people in India, largest after the agriculture sector.

Manjinder Singh Sachdeva General Secretary FICO said that the MSMEs account for up to 90% of businesses, over 60% to 70% of jobs worldwide, and half of global GDP. In India too, the MSMEs play a strategic role in the economic development of the country by contributing 30% to India’s GDP and 45% of total manufacturing output, with 40% of exports.
