Ferozepur police recovered heroine, fake currency notes and arms, ammunition

Ferozepur, January 27, 2022: In a major crackdown to check the cross border smuggling of narcotics and arms, Ferozepur police has recovered 5 kg heroine, fake currency notes and 25 live cartridges and a pistol in a raid at various locations at Village Bare Ke situated along the Indo- Pak border here today.
 
Dr. Narinder Bharghav, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur, while interacting with the media informed that the police party had arrested Balwinder Singh, resident of Village Saddu Shah Wala, Tek Chand, Vikram and Arun Bhatti, all three residents of Village Bare Ke at a barricade at the bridge at Vilage Bare Ke on January 25, 2022. Smelling a rat, the police asked them a few questions, to which the accused failed to give satisfactory replies. After interrogation, the police raided various locations at village Bare Ke and recovered fake currency notes worth rupees 80 thousand, one Chinese- made Pistol, 25 live cartridges, 5 mobile phones, a dongle, a car and five motorcycles.
 
During the interrogation by the In-charge of CIA staff Jagdish Kumar, the accused further spilled the beans about the consignment of heroine received from across the border, which they hidden in their houses. The police party raided their houses and recovered a total of 5 kg heroine. The accused have confessed to have indulged in such crimes in the past too.
 
Dwelling further, Dr Narinder Bharghav informed that one of the two accused Balwinder Singh, who had managed to flee on January 25, was also arrested by the police, on the basis of a tip- off, at Railway Road near Amar Hospital.  However, Tek Chand is still at large.

The accused have been booked Under Section IPC 379, 411, 420, 473, 489A, 489C and 21/23 NDPS Act and 25 Armed Act and sent to a 5- day police remand.
