Ferozepur police arrest two spies, recover cash and scorpions

Ferozepur, November 10, 2014: The Ferozepur police have arrested two persons on alleged charges of spying. As per information available two persons identified as Shiv Narayan and Arjun, residents of Village Khukhrian near Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh were staying in a guest house in the cantonment area for the last few days.

DSP Vibhor Sharma said that the persons were in regular touch with their female Pakistani friends on internet. The accused were landed in the police net when the owner of the guest house where they had been staying got suspicious over their antecedents and informed the police.

DSP said that the arrested persons had called on a Pakistani number atleast 15- 20 times. The police had also got details of an amount of Rs 12000 which was transferred to them through moneygram from Pakistan.

Sukhwant Singh Gill, SSP, confirmed that a case under Sections 121A and 11 (Wildlife Act) has been registered against these two persons. He further said that the police also recovered scorpions from their possession which they wanted to hand over to some local contact, who did not turn up to receive the same.

SSP said that as per preliminary investigations, it had been confirmed that those persons were conducting reconnaissance of the area and had also visited Indo-Pakistan Joint Check Post at Hussaniwala twice during last week.
