FedEx Express recognized at Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Award for most gender inclusive workplace

Bangalore: FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, has been recognised with the award for ‘Best Gender Equality Workplace’ by the World HRD Congress at the Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Awards 2021.
            
The Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Awards recognize and celebrate individuals, advisory firms, industry partners, and institutions for their work and passion in enabling diversity and inclusion initiatives. This year, more than 400 organizations participated in the awards conducted by the World HRD Congress.
 
“We are honoured to be recognized for our gender equality initiatives, highlighting the programs and policies we deliver to provide a safe, diverse, and inclusive work environment for all team members”, said Mohamad Sayegh, vice president Operations for FedEx Express in India.
 
“Our commitment to diversity, inclusion and gender equality is an integral part of our culture and we strongly believe in providing all team members with an equal opportunity to excel and grow. We are committed to programs that equip women with the necessary tools  to explore new possibilities and advance, both personally and professionally”, he added.
 
Recently, FedEx Express launched the Leadership, Education, Advancement, and Placement (LEAP) initiative in its MEISA region; a mentoring program aimed to equip women with mentorship opportunities, and the tools they need to advance their career within the organization.
 
In March 2020, Jack Muhs, regional president for the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa (MEISA) region, signed the CEO statement of support for the ‘Women’s Empowerment Principles – Equality means Business’. The principles were established by the United Nations Global Compact and United Nations Women, and outline actions to encourage gender equality in the workplace, and the community.
 
FedEx has been named by Forbes Magazine in 2019 as one of the Best Employers for Diversity globally, and was also recognized as one of the top Top 50 Best Workplaces for Women 2020 in India, by the Great Place to Work Institute.
