Fear of the Law Has Disappeared from the Minds of Criminals in Punjab: Rajnish Dhiman

Ludhiana, October 24, 2026: Strongly condemning the tragic incident in Ludhiana in which miscreants entered a house and severed the hand of a young man, who later died due to excessive blood loss, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab General Secretary Rajnish Dhiman said that criminals in Punjab no longer fear the law. There appears to be no effective government or rule of law in the state.
He questioned why the fear of the law among criminals in Punjab appeared to be disappearing. Who is responsible for protecting the lives and property of ordinary citizens? Has the government been reduced to issuing statements only after such incidents occur?
Rajnish Dhiman said that the police were examining the case from the angle of personal enmity. However, personal rivalry does not give anyone the right to take the law into their own hands or take another person's life. Every serious crime must be investigated impartially, and the guilty must receive strict punishment in accordance with the law.
He demanded that the government monitor the police investigation in this case, ensure justice for the victim's family, and take concrete steps to safeguard the people of the city. He said the people of Punjab need the assurance that their lives and safety are the government's top priority.
Rajnish Dhiman said that if people are not safe even inside their own homes, it is only natural to question the government's claims regarding law and order. He said the incident had robbed a family of its young son, and the government must recognise the gravity of the situation and fix accountability.
