FDP on 'Innovative Approaches in Teaching and Research' and Student Exchange Programme (SEP)

Chandigarh, March 15, 2019: Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on 'Innovative Approaches in Teaching and Research' and Student Exchange Programme (SEP) were organised by Dr.Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology under the aegis of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme-III during 11-15 March, 2019 and 11-14 March, 2019 respectively.
Prof.Devinder Singh, Secretary to Vice Chancellor, Panjab University Chandigarh and Chief Guest during the valedictory function addressed the participants and emphasized on 'How the role of a teacher is important towards innovative research for his/her contribution in the field of Science and Technology'. He also highlighted the various challenges faced by the faculty which needs to be addressed during the different phases of teaching and research. Emphasises on the need of student exchange programmes to harness the skills of the studentswere also laid upon. He pointed that the young students must be imparted requisite technical, professional, moral and aptitude skills so that they become better citizens and serve our nation.
The coordinators of the Faculty Development Program Prof. Ritu Gupta and Dr.Amit Sobti and Student Exchange Program Prof. S K Kansal and Mr. Surinder Singh thanked all the resource persons and the experts who immensely contributed to make these programmes a great success.
The programme concluded with the panel discussion and a review session where all the participants shared their experiences and skills learnt during the programme with Prof. S K Sharma, Professor Emeritus Energy Research Center, Panjab University Chandigarh.
