Dharamshala, November 22, 2025: FC Ingolstadt CEO Dietmar Beyersdorfer has described his visit to the HPCA Cricket Stadium, Dharamshala, as an unforgettable experience, praising it as one of the most stunning sporting venues in the world.
Beyersdorfer, along with Manuel Schaefer, Director (International Relations), is currently on an India tour from Germany. They were accompanied by Dr. Parthasarathi Bhattacharya, Director, TCG Crest, and Kaushik Maulik, Football Philosopher. The delegation visited the HPCA Stadium and met former Union Minister and Member of Parliament Anurag Singh Thakur.
Reflecting on his visit, Beyersdorfer said, “Coming to India and seeing such a beautiful, well-equipped, state-of-the-art stadium nestled in the mountains is truly remarkable. The HPCA Ground in Dharamshala is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful sports venues in the world. Meeting the visionary behind this iconic stadium, former BCCI President Anurag Singh Thakur, was an honour. His efforts to shape Dharamshala into India’s next major sporting hub are truly inspiring.”
He added that they were deeply impressed by Thakur’s passion, clarity of vision, and commitment to promoting sports culture in the Himalayan region.
HPCA General Secretary Avneesh Parmar said that under Anurag Thakur’s leadership, Himachal Pradesh has witnessed exceptional growth in sports infrastructure. “The Dharamshala stadium has become a global attraction. Sports administrators from across India and abroad frequently visit the venue. Our preparations for the upcoming home match on December 14 are complete, and we look forward to hosting more matches in the future for cricket lovers in Himachal,” he said.
