Faith and Service: Dewan’s Janmashtami Devotion at Temples Across Ludhiana

Ludhiana, September 5, 2026: On the pious occasion of Janmashtami, senior Congress leader and former District Congress Committee (Urban) president Pawan Dewan paid obeisance with devotion at Shri Durga Mata Mandir, Jagraon Bridge, yesterday evening and sought blessings of Lord Shri Krishna. On this occasion, Krishna Lal Gupta, Varinder Mittal, Sanjay Mahindru, Balbir Gupta and Ashwani Jain were also present.
Dewan visited several temples including Shri Durga Mata Mandir (Jagraon Bridge), Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir (J Block, Housing Board Colony), Shri Shiv Durga Mandir (Joshi Nagar, Haibowal) and Shri Nav Durga Mandir (Sarabha Nagar), praying for happiness, peace, prosperity and well being for all.
At Shri Sanatan Dharma Mandir, New Model Town, under the supervision of Tony Kapoor, Dewan partook in langar seva. “A special langar of puri and chole was arranged for all devotees,” he said, adding that along with Kapil Bhagat and friends, a langar seva was also organised in Jawahar Nagar.
Along with his friends, Dewan also paid obeisance at Shri Durga Mata Mandir, Jagraon Bridge, Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, J Block, Housing Board Colony and Shri Shiv Durga Mandir, Joshi Nagar, Haibowal. Dewan added that he took blessings from Lord Krishna during the grand religious programme at Shri Nav Durga Mandir, Sarabha Nagar and at Shri Shiv Durga Mandir, Joshi Nagar, Haibowal. 
Describing the experience as pure bliss, Dewan said, “The devotional atmosphere in the temple premises and the faith of the devotees made this sacred occasion even more special. Meanwhile, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Dewan extended his heartiest congratulations to the entire teaching fraternity. “A guru not only imparts knowledge but also shows us the right path to live our lives. I bow with utmost respect to all the honoured teachers who provide direction to our lives. Respect for the guru is respect for knowledge,” Dewan said.
