Extension Lecture on Constitutional Rights Held at IETVE, Panjab University
The Institute of Educational Technology and Vocational Education (IETVE), Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised an extension lecture on “Constitutional Rights: Philosophical Foundations” in the Multipurpose Hall, IETVE. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Navjot, Department of Political Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The session was chaired by Dr Amritpal Kaur.
Chandigarh, March 19, 2026: The Institute of Educational Technology and Vocational Education (IETVE), Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised an extension lecture on “Constitutional Rights: Philosophical Foundations” in the Multipurpose Hall, IETVE. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Navjot, Department of Political Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The session was chaired by Dr Amritpal Kaur.
The lecture aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the philosophical basis of constitutional rights and their relevance in contemporary society. Prof. Navjot elaborated on key concepts such as justice, liberty, equality, and the moral foundations underlying constitutional provisions. The speaker also highlighted how these rights are essential for maintaining democratic values and ensuring social harmony. Real-life examples and interactive discussion made the session highly engaging and insightful.
A total of 66 students of BA BEd actively participated in the lecture. The students showed keen interest and interacted with the speaker through thoughtful questions, which enriched the overall learning experience.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Sarabjeet Kaur, Guest Faculty in Political Science, who expressed gratitude to the speaker for sharing valuable knowledge and to the participants for their enthusiastic involvement. The lecture proved to be highly informative and beneficial for the academic growth of the students.
