The Career Counseling and Placement Cell, in association with the PG Department of English and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Lyallpur Khalsa College, organized an extension lecture on the topic “Career Opportunities for Students in the Field of Literature and Language.” The session aimed to provide students with valuable insights into diverse professional pathways in the field of humanities.

Jalandhar, March 24, 2026: The Career Counseling and Placement Cell, in association with the PG Department of English and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Lyallpur Khalsa College, organized an extension lecture on the topic “Career Opportunities for Students in the Field of Literature and Language.” The session aimed to provide students with valuable insights into diverse professional pathways in the field of humanities.

The resource person for the lecture was Dr. Narinder K. Sharma from the Department of English, School of Languages, Literature and Culture at Central University of Punjab. Addressing the students, he elaborated on various career avenues such as teaching, research, translation, content writing, media, publishing, civil services, and emerging interdisciplinary fields. He also encouraged students to strengthen their communication and analytical skills and remain open to evolving opportunities.

On this occasion, the Principal of the college, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of such academic interactions in guiding students toward meaningful career choices. Earlier, the Convener of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell, Dr. Charanjit Singh, formally welcomed the resource person and informed students about the various services and guidance provided by the Cell for effective career planning.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Balraj Kaur, Head of the Department of English. The event witnessed the presence of several faculty members from different departments, reflecting a collaborative academic environment. The stage proceedings were conducted by Dr. Daljit Kaur from the Department of Computer Science and IT.

The lecture concluded with an interactive session, where students actively engaged with the speaker and sought guidance regarding career prospects in literature and language, making the event both informative and enriching.
