EXPERTS FROM UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH VISIT PAU

Ludhiana, November 15, 2017: Professor Cathy Dwyer, Director Jeanne Marchig International Centre for Animal Welfare, Dr Guraa Bergkvist, Veterinary Oncologist and Ms Gurpreet Grewal Kang from the University of Edinburgh visited PAU on November 13, 2017.The delegates met the Vice Chancellor, Deans and Directors of PAU and discussed areas of mutual collaboration. Experts from GADVASU also explored areas in terms of research synergy. Dr Dywer gave a brief about the University of Edinburgh and various agriculture related courses being run at the under graduate and post graduate level. Ms Kang outlined the post graduate online courses in food security and food safety for the benefit of PAU students. She also highlighted the student exchange areas where students of either university would be enrolled free of tuition fee.

Dr B.S. Dhillon, Vice Chancellor, PAU highlighted the areas of interdisciplinary research collaboration, faculty and student exchange as the key areas for collaboration. He also stressed that while exposure of faculty and students in foreign universities is extremely important, the cost of courses/ programmes should be subsidized so that maximum number of professionals can benefit from it.

Earlier, Dr Navtej Singh Bains, Director Research, PAU, welcomed the delegates and gave a brief introduction about the university.
