Chandigarh, August 13, 2023: The two-day national conference on ‘Precision medicine and molecular oncology’ concluded at a Mohali hotel on Sunday.

Around 150 cancer experts across the country participated in the conference and dwelled upon the latest breakthroughs and advancements in the cancer treatment field.

The major topics discussed during the conference included; precision medicine & molecular oncology, advances in the management of advance biliary tract cancer, advances in management of metastatic pancreatic cancer, adjuvant therapy for renal cell carcinoma, precision oncology in prostate cancer, hereditary breast and ovarian cancer , screening and prevention of hereditary breast & ovarian cancer, managing advanced cervix cancer and approach to unusual abdominal lumps and bumps in
pediatric age group and pole of precision medicine in pediatric oncology.

Dr. Sachin Gupta, director medical oncology and hemato oncology at Max Hospital Mohali, who organized the conference said, “As cancer remains one of the most pressing global health challenges, this gathering of esteemed experts is expected to yield transformative outcomes that will directly benefit patients and practitioners alike.”

Dr. Shaveta Gupta senior gynecologist and laparoscopic and robotic surgeon moderated a session dedicated to the advancements in the treatment of women's cancers.
Dr. Amit Verma a molecular oncologist focussed on intricate cancer cases that have challenged the medical community.
Dr. Krutika Goel, a child cancer specialist, spoke about childhood cancers during the conference.

During the occasion, Dr. Ashok Vaid, a seasoned cancer specialist was honored for his contribution to the field and as a testament to his enduring impact on cancer care.

Dr. Harit Chaturvedi, senior chairman oncology services at Max Hospital Delhi, Dr. Rakesh Kapoor from PGIMER Chandigarh and Dr. DC Doval, director oncology at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute Delhi were also honoured during the occasion.
