Expert talk on financial literacy

Jalandhar: Department of Business Management of DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology organised an Expert Talk on the topic “Financial Literacy” on May 20, 2021 for the students of MBA, BBA and B.Com (Hons.) under the stewardship of Principal Dr. Manoj Kumar and able guidance of HOD Dr. Anil Soni. Dr. Munish Nagpal, Director Menta Skills was the e-resource person of extension lecture. The main aim of the expert talk is to enhance the level of financial literacy among the students. Dr. Munish Nagpal has initiated topic with introduction and importance of   financial literacy. He has discussed in detail various investment options like fixed deposits, public provident fund, capital market instruments and money market instruments and mutual funds etc. with their merits and limitations. He has elaborated various methods and procedure of investing in these options i.e. online and offline trading, direct and regular investing options. The Resource person has also explained the steps taken by Securities Exchange Board of India, Reserve Bank of India and other institutions for uplifting the level of financial literacy. He has discussed precautions to be taken while investing.

Formal Vote of thanks has been delivered by Dr. Suman Tandon, Convener of the event. Principal Dr. Manoj Kumar has congratulated the department for the success of the event. The talk turned out to be very informative and interactive for the students.
