Excitel, India’s fastest growing broadband network, and go-to streaming partner has achieved the milestone of 400,000 connections across India. The five-year-old company with a mission to make broadband a primary source of entertainment for households to grow is expecting to touch 500,000 subscribers across the country by the year-end. Since the first lockdown stage, Excitel has added 52,000 new users of which 30,000 were in Delhi-NCR alone.

Announcing the milestone, Vivek Raina, CEO, Excitel Broadband, said, “The milestone is a testament to our commitment to bringing internet connectivity to ‘Bharat’. We have managed to serve the underserved areas in the cities we are present in through an expansive infrastructure and value for money offering. We aim to reach 10 lakh subscribers by the end of 2021, partnering with local cable and Internet operators to get coverage in 75% of the city which other operators/telcos are unable to cover. We grew, both in sales and average data usage by Excitel users (up to 35%) in a month during the lockdown. With a 25% growth in the first half of the year, we plan to continue the momentum with the internet now an essential commodity for millions across the country.”

The unique business model of Excitel lays focus on FTTH (Fiber to the home) and goes to the parts of cities and towns in the country which were till now unserved by traditional Telcos/ISPs and considered low ARPU areas. Excitel is committed and focused on serving such territories with best in class high speed broadband at an affordable price.

Currently operational in nine cities including Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Kanpur, Lucknow, Jaipur, Jhansi & Guntur, Excitel Broadband is working towards reaching over 50 more cities by the end of 2021. This would include state capitals and class B cities. At present, Excitel is delivering 600 Gigabits of data over a massive fiber network of 20,000 km including partners’ networks to 4 lakh households. More than 50% of Excitel’s current sales are of FTTH and by the end of 2020, we would be selling only FTTH services.
