Chandigarh, December 12, 2023: The examination branch started a two days training cum interactive workshop regarding the best practices to be followed up regarding digitization of the examination process today in the Golden Jubilee Conference Hall, Panjab University.   

The Tata Consultative Services (Confidential) was the resource team of this workshop.  The inauguration was done by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and this event was also attended by the Registrar.  The basic motive of this workshop was to improve the knowledge and to incorporate the usage of latest technologies in examination related work.  The Controller of Examinations welcomed the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, the TCS team and the officials attending the workshop.  

The Vice-Chancellor in her inaugural address stated that though we have automated different processes like registration, admission, examination etc. but because of lack of coordination between different componentsand different rules and regulations of all courses it is difficult to find one solution so it has to be customized.  It is the time to switch over to the new technology if we have to compete with other universities. So, it is a good initiative on the part of the examination branch.  It will help to learn new technologies and make the whole process student’s friendly.  The TCS team leader stated that currently with the introduction of new technologies it is possible to generate a single solution that can be provided to fulfill all the requirements. In the morning session interactions between TCS and examination branch was done so as to identify the gaps which can be plugged in and further to explore whether integration of the stand alone system developed by examination branch can be done.  In detail presentation of various portals of examination branch was done and the queries of the resource team were addressed. The second day of the workshop would be dedicated towards finding the solution to the problem identified on the first day. 

The Deputy Registrar Examinations, all Assistant Registrar Examinations, Assistant Registrar of few other branches related to examination, Superintendents and other officials attended this workshop. Total number of participating officials were more than 60.
