Dharamshala, October 4, 2023: The District Magistrate of Kangra, Dr Nipun Jindal, has outlined a traffic plan for the upcoming Cricket World Cup matches to be held in Dharamshala. Here are the key points of the traffic plan:

Vehicle Restrictions: Six hours before each match, the movement of large vehicles carrying cement,  sand-gravel, construction material  etc., will be restricted within Dharamsala city. This restriction will remain in effect until the end of the match.

Exemptions: Buses on their regular routes and vehicles providing emergency/essential services will not be subject to this restriction.

Traffic Flow: The traffic plan includes designated entry and exit routes for Dharamsala. Visitors will enter Dharamsala from Kangra and Gaggal sides via the Chaitadu-Sheela Road and exit from Dharamshala via Sakoh.

Dr Jindal said, “The district administration is taking these measures to ensure smooth traffic flow and to minimize disruptions during the Cricket World Cup matches scheduled for October 7, 10, 17, 22, and 28 in Dharamsala. The administration is also requesting cooperation from the local residents and match spectators to make this plan effective.”

He added that these traffic arrangements aim to enhance the overall experience for fans attending the matches while also ensuring the safety and convenience of the public in Dharamshala during the event.
