Ludhiana, May 21, 2018: Ms Rozy Rasool, a Ph.D Research Scholar from the Department of Entomology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana has been awarded INSPIRE Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India for her Ph.D research entitled ‘Uptake and metabolism of thiamethoxam in wheat and its persistence in soil’. Her Major Advisor, Dr Balpreet Kaur Kang, Sr Insect Toxicologist informed that as a result of this study, toxic metabolites of thiamethoxam in wheat and soil, as well as efficiency of various microbial isolates in the degradation of thiamethoxam in contaminated soils will be known. The Vice Chancellor, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon; Dean, Post Graduate Studies, Dr G.K.Sangha and Head, Department of Entomology, Dr Pardeep Chhuneja congratulated the student for this achievement.
