Ferozepur, February 27, 2014: It seems that the end of problems is near for the residents at Jhoke road, Ferozepur, who were facing trouble for the last few days due to the sinking of road.  Though the filling of the 20 feet pit, after the construction of damaged sewerage pipes, is at the final stage, the residents are worried about the heaps of muck which are scattered in the vicinity.
The trouble began on February 16 in the evening, when a truck suddenly sank in to the road due to leakage of underground sewerage at Khai road which severely damaged the sewerage and water supply pipes. To add more insults to injuries, a twenty fit pit emerged as a result of immersed truck, causing problem for the daily commuters.
When contacted, the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, informed that the construction work will be finished in a day or two. The municipal committee is doing the best possible in its limited sources. He further stated that a Ruby Corn, a Delhi based Construction Company, which is has been entrusted for the construction and repair of sewerage at circular road and some of the other adjoining roads, around estimated area of 3.70 kilometer, is also helping in the filling of this huge pit. He added that due to the construction work, the pipes were blocked for few days due to which the residents around the area were not receiving water.
