Ludhiana, May 9, 2025: A comprehensive training program on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) was successfully organized by the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) at its premises. The session witnessed active participation from over 40 industry representatives and entrepreneurs.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. S.B. Singh, Joint Secretary, CICU. He emphasized the growing importance of digital platforms in public procurement and encouraged participants to leverage GeM for expanding their business opportunities.
The training session was conducted by Deepak Sharma, an experienced trainer from GeM. He delivered an insightful presentation on the features and benefits of the GeM portal, including step-by-step guidance on registration, catalogue uploading, bid submission, and other essential functionalities.
Additionally, the program included a session on the functioning of the GeM help desk set up at the District Industries Centre (DIC) office. Rahul Garg, Functional Manager, along with Mr. Rahul Bassi, Block Level Extension Officer, and Rishabh Garg, Senior Industrial Promotion Officer, briefed attendees on the support services available for vendors and buyers.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President of CICU, highlighted that the objective of the training was to create awareness about the Government's e-procurement portal and to empower businesses to participate effectively. He expressed his gratitude to the speakers and faculty members for their valuable contributions. The event was also graced by Honey Sethi, General Secretary of CICU, and Kanish Kaura, Vice President of CICU.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, reflecting the keen interest and enthusiasm of the participants.
