Hyderabad: The 3rd HR Summit organised by ASSOCHAM in Hyderabad witnessed an inspiring address by Telangana’s Labour, Employment, Mines & Geology Minister, Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy, who underscored the pivotal role of employees as the true brand ambassadors of every organisation and highlighted the transformative power of progressive HR practices.
Addressing an eminent gathering of HR leaders, industry stalwarts, and policy experts at HICC Novotel, the Minister stated that employee satisfaction is directly linked to enhanced productivity and sustainable organisational growth. He emphasised that Human Resources departments today serve as strategic pillars within enterprises, shaping workplace culture, talent retention, and long-term competitiveness.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy expressed his appreciation to ASSOCHAM for creating a dynamic platform that fosters dialogue between government and industry. Reflecting on his earlier tenure as Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry, he noted the significant evolution of HR practices over the years. He observed that while organisations once grappled with wage disputes and labour-related challenges, the HR function has since matured into one of the most critical arms of corporate governance.
“Retaining talented employees and enhancing productivity remain key challenges for HR professionals. Managements and HR departments must work in tandem to create progressive, employee-centric ecosystems that drive growth,” he remarked.
Highlighting the Telangana Government’s forward-looking vision, the Minister announced that the State is placing strong emphasis on skill development. Legacy Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are being upgraded into Advanced Training Centres (ATCs) with CSR support from Tata, aiming to equip youth with industry-relevant skills. Several ATCs are being established in rural areas and are expected to become operational within the next year.
He invited HR leaders and corporate managements to actively participate in this transformative journey by recruiting skilled manpower trained at these centres and recommending new-age courses aligned with emerging industry needs. He further stated that departmental officials have been directed to maintain close coordination with industry stakeholders to ensure a synchronised and demand-driven approach to employment generation.
The Summit witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 150+ senior HR professionals, CXOs, entrepreneurs, policymakers, representatives from training institutions, and young HR practitioners. The interactive sessions, Q&A rounds, and networking engagements enabled meaningful exchange of ideas and fostered stronger collaboration between government and industry.
The event reinforced ASSOCHAM’s commitment to serving as a catalyst for dialogue, policy advocacy, and knowledge sharing, while strengthening the bridge between industry and government.
The Summit witnessed the gracious presence and valuable insights of several distinguished leaders.
A key highlight of the Summit was the release of the White Paper titled “Telangana Workforce Blueprint 2030.” This comprehensive blueprint reflects collective insights from industry leaders, policy experts, academia, and HR professionals. It aims to serve as a strategic roadmap for workforce transformation in the State, focusing on skill development, industry alignment, employability enhancement, and sustainable employment generation.
