Rohtak, May 22, 2026: To build a successful career in the fields of teaching and research, not only is academic excellence required, but proficiency in effective communication skills is also absolutely essential. These views were expressed by Sunit Mukherjee—Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at MDU, and Director of Public Relations—while addressing newly enrolled research scholars during an interactive session held in the Department of Mathematics.

The keynote speaker, Sunit Mukherjee said that both verbal and written communication skills play a pivotal role in achieving the goals of research and academic excellence. He advised the research scholars to adhere to ethical values in their research work and in the publication of research papers. Furthermore, he noted that in this era of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the quality of knowledge and research can be significantly enhanced through the positive and responsible utilization of cutting-edge technological tools, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Sunit Mukherjee also emphasized the importance of utilizing professional media platforms—such as LinkedIn—for the wider dissemination of research and academic achievements; he further guided the scholars by addressing their queries. Earlier in the session, the HoD, Prof. Sumit Gill, welcomed the guest speaker and outlined the agenda of the session. Faculty members and research scholars were present on the occasion.
