Elite Strikers Retain PU Non-Teaching Employee Premier League 2nd Edition Tennis Ball Cricket T10 Tournament 2026
Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh concluded the second edition of its T10 Cricket Tournament 2026 with a thrilling final in which Elite Strikers defended their title, defeating Security Tigers XI in Super Over after both teams finished their allotted 10 overs tied at 70 runs each.

Chandigarh, August 4, 2026: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh concluded the second edition of its T10 Cricket Tournament 2026 with a thrilling final in which Elite Strikers defended their title, defeating Security Tigers XI in Super Over after both teams finished their allotted 10 overs tied at 70 runs each.
The tournament was organised from July 17 to August 3, 2026, witnessed participation from 24 teams, with 31 matches played over the course of the competition.
Prof. Yogesh Rawal, Dean Student Welfare PU graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Dr. Sukhjinder Singh, Director Youth Welfare (PU); Aman Singla SDO (Horticulture); Dr. Rajesh Jham; and Rahul, Chief Manager, SBI PU Branch.
In the final both teams scored 70 runs in their allotted 10 overs and the match entered in a Super Over. Security Tigers scored 4/1 in the Super Over, setting a target of five runs for Elite Strikers. Elite Strikers held their composure and chased the target in just two deliveries without losing a single wicket to emerge champions for the second consecutive year.
Naveen Khera received the Player of the Match title for his all-round performance. He scored 12 runs off nine deliveries and returned bowling figures of 1 wicket for 6 runs in his two overs. He further played a role by bowling the Super Over, claiming one wicket while conceding only four runs to restrict the opposition.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Yogesh Rawal congratulated all the participating teams for their sportsmanship and competitive spirit throughout the tournament. He also commended the organisers, officials, volunteers and support staff for ensuring the successful conduct of the championship. He further congratulated the organizer Honey Thakur, Deepak Sharma, Ashwani Kumar, Sushil Kumar, Gurjant Singh, Amit Tanwar, Harpal Singh and Rohit Sood for their tireless efforts for the smooth conduct of the tournament.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Prof. Rawal presented the championship trophy to Elite Strikers and Runners-up trophy to Security Tigers XI along with medals to the players of both the teams.
