Efforts being made to expand Gaggal Airport, so that big planes could land there: CM

Dharamshala: Addressing a public meeting at Takkipur in Kangra during the second day of the winter sojourn of Kangra district today Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government was committed to provide quality education to the youth in the state, so that Himachal Pradesh emerges as a frontrunner state of the country in the field of education.  Chief Minister said the state government has ensured uniform and balanced development of every area of the state and welfare of every section of the society during last two years.

Jai Ram Thakur said, “The Nation today was being led under the strong and able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and India has regained its old glory. He said that even the leaders of most powerful nations of the world have now acknowledged the strong leadership of Narendra Modi. Prime Minister has constituted   ‘Sri Ram Janambhumi Tirtha Kshetra Trust’ for construction of magnificent temple of Lord Rama at Ayodhya. He said this would help in fulfilling the religious sentiments of crores of people of the country and abroad.”

Chief Minister said that Kangra, is  the biggest district of state and the state government was committed for its development by leaps and bounds. He said that work on four-laning projects in the district would be taken soon to ensure better connectivity in district, so that it could emerge as a major tourism destination. He said, “Efforts were being made to expand Gaggal Airport, so that big planes could land there. This airport, would prove a boon for the tourism industry in the region.”

After inaugurating Newly Constructed Building of Government Degree College Takkipur, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced renaming of this college as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Degree College, Takkipur. He also announced that science classes would be started in Degree College Takkipur.

Chief Minister announced a Sub Division of Jal Shakti Vibhag for Ranital, besides Junior Engineer Section at Thakurdwara. He also announced upgradation of Primary Health Centre Tiara to Community Health Centre. He said that Government High School Takkipur would also be upgraded to Government Senior Secondary School. He said that Degree College Matour would be strengthened.

Jai Ram Thakur said that a bridge costing Rs. 5.82 crore would be constructed over railway line in Kangra Assembly Constituency to be funded under NABARD.  He said that Rs. 17.78 crore would be spent under Jal Jivan Mission in Daulatpur of Kangra Assembly Constituency. 

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated administrative block of Government Polytechnic College Kangra completed by spending an amount of Rs. 5.54 crore.

He also inaugurated many schemes and laid the foundation stones of project worth crore of rupees.

Former MLA Surender  Kaku,    Former MLA Sanjay Chaudhary, Urban Development Minister Sarveen Chaudhary, Health and Family Welfare Minister Vipin Singh Parmar, Industries Minister Bikram Singh, Vice Chairman State Planning Board Ramesh Dhawala, MLAs  Rakesh Pathania, Arun Kumar, Ravi Dhiman and Vishal Nehria, District President Chander Bhushan Nag, BJYM State President Vishal Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Kangra Rakesh Prajapati, SP Kangra Vimukt Ranjan were present on the occasion, among others.
