Dharamshala,  March 9, 2023: Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that a Block Development Office would be opened at Palampur .He also mentioned about the plans to address the parking problem in Palampur by creating adequate parking infrastructure near the bus stand. “Efforts are underway to develop Palampur as an IT hub to promote employment opportunities in the region,” said CM as he was addressing the people on the occasion of the State level Palampur Holi fair, at Palampur late evening on Wednesday,

The Chief Minister said, “ Kangra district is being developed as a tourism capital to provide the best tourism related infrastructure to the tourists visiting the district. A blueprint for the same is being prepared, to create basic amenities and other relevant infrastructure to the tourists so that more and more tourists are attracted to this area.

 He added that religious tourism would also be promoted in a big way in the district. “Apart from building a heliport in Kangra, the expansion process of existing Kangra airport at Gaggal is on, which would benefit not only Kangra district but also the entire state,” he added. He said that the expansion of Gaggal Airport would generate employment opportunities in the coming times and would also go a long way in facilitating the tourists.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has fulfilled its first guarantee in the very first cabinet meeting in which the old pension has been restored to benefit 1.36 lakh employees and the remaining guarantees would also be fulfilled in a phased manner.

Earlier Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of up gradation of 9.30 kms Kulaani-Chandpur-Bharmat-Simblu road to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.28 crore.

Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also visited the first Tulip Garden of the state at CISR-IHBT Palampur and evinced keen interest in it.

Chief Minister also called on Spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at Gujrehra in district Kangra yesterday and honored him with a Himachali cap and shawl.The Chief Minister lauded the efforts of the Art of Living organization and urged him to join hands in the fight against drugs, by providing counseling at various rehabilitation centers in the State. Both discussed the ways to promote religious tourism, green energy and rich cultural heritage in the State.
