Jalandhar, March 13, 2024: An educational trip was organised by Planning Forum under the aegis of P.G. Department of Economics, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh congratulated the Dept. of Economics for organizing such visits to make the students understand the economic significance of the production units as they contribute to employment, national income/national output, tax contribution etc. He added that these physical visits are important to provide practical aspect to the academics.
38 students of B.Sc. Economics & M.A. Economics accompanied by Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Head, Department of Economics, Dr. S.S. Bains, Dr. Sarbjit Kaur and Prof. Ritika Sharma visited F.C. Sondhi Sports Goods production unit and Lamson Rubber & PU Chappel production Unit at Leather Complex, Jalandhar.
During the visit, the students were made aware about the manufacturing process, accounts keeping, store keeping and packaging in the factories.
Students interacted with management, staff and workers separately. They also came to know about various social security schemes, protection measures during their service.
