Chandigarh:  The national webinar organized by Baba Balraj Panjab University Constituent College, Balachaur on the topic entitled Challenges of Online Education in Rural Areas.
The event was inaugurated and presided over by Professor Raj Kumar, the Vice Chancellor of Punjab University as Chief Patron. He highlighted the significance and viability of the topic in the time of this crisis and held that the emerged situation has posed a challenge for the faculty and the students particularly in the rural areas where the students do not have easy access to or have limited knowledge of such mode. He emphasized that outcome of this webinar should be published in firm of a book consisting of the challenges and suggestions deliberated in the webinar which will be of a great significance for the policy makers in future. He appreciated the efforts of the Principal Sunil Khosla with a congratulatory note along with his team for this. He added that it is pertinent to mention that Constituent College, Balachaur is the first college amongst the constituent colleges to organize such webinar.    
The National Webinar focused on the significance of the evolving different mode of education particularly during the pandemic COVID-19. In the emergent situation worldwide, the provision of education is faced with one of the biggest challenges which is distancing us from the interface mode of education due to the lockdown meant for our health and safety. The wider application of online mode of imparting education has come to play a key role in the field. In this webinar, 170 scholars from around 12 states and 26 institutions participated.
The chief guest of the national webinar was Professor Sushma Yadav, Vice Chancellor of BPS Mahila Vishavidyalya, Sonipat. Principal Sunil Khosla welcomed the guests and participants while stressing the significance of the topic of the webinar in the emerging world order due to Covid-19.
The chief guest Professor Sushma Yadav, Vice Chancellor, BPS Mahila Vishavidyalya, Sonipat opened her deliberation with congratulatory note for Principal Khosla and his team for webinar. She laid stress on following adaptive thinking particularly from the gender point of view along with the resources of online education. Gender discrimination is not a sign of development and progress. She emphasized on the streamlining of online education with easy access in the rural areas.
Professor Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, Panjab University observed that we are confronted with virus affecting our mind apart from the Covid-19 and have to come out of this critical situation rationally.
