Mumbai (Anil Bedag): The resonating melodies of ragas across Mumbai and Pune stand as a testament to the timeless relevance and vibrancy of Indian classical music. The two-day festival ‘Anhad’, organized by SPIC MACAY, emerged not merely as a cultural event but as a powerful initiative connecting the youth with their roots.
Supported by SBI Payments, the festival further strengthened the mission of bringing classical music closer to the younger generation. Over the past year, SPIC MACAY has organized more than 75 programs in schools and colleges across Mumbai and over 100 in Pune, demonstrating that with the right exposure and guidance, today’s youth are eager to appreciate the depth and richness of classical traditions.
The performances by eminent artists at ‘Anhad’ captivated audiences while awakening a deeper sense of sensitivity and aesthetic appreciation among students. The intricate nuances of ragas, the complexity of rhythm, and the spiritual essence of the music offered an immersive and enriching experience.
SPIC MACAY’s efforts go beyond academics, integrating cultural richness into education. Festivals like ‘Anhad’ send a powerful message—Indian classical music is not just a legacy of the past but an inspiration for the future, guiding the younger generation towards becoming more creative, aware, and culturally rooted individuals.
