Dharamsala, January 14, 2013: GS Bali, Himachal Pradesh Transport Minister will soon be available on his mobile phone 24×7 to address grievances of public of the state related to three most important departments namely
Himachal government run buses (HRTC), ration seekers of the government depots and the students of the technical institutes of the state.
GS Bali, a senior Congress leader and MLA from Nagrota constituency of Kangra district said,” Any misbehaviour or lack of service will not be tolerated at any cost. The directions in this regards have already been circulated in these departments.”
Bali told that he had told the Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corp (HRTC) to display his phone number 9816035297 on all buses. In his second stint as Transport Minister, Bali has said his number will be painted on all 1,200 luxury and ordinary buses of HRTC and 4,500 fair price shops.
“Last time (2003-07) also when I was the transport minister I displayed my number on all the buses. At that time, the response from the public was good,” he recalled on same mobile number, on being contacted.
HRTC is also planning to start all-women buses. “Initially we will start special buses for women on some routes during evening hours,” he added.
Further, he told that initially, these special buses would ply in Shimla, Dharamsala and Kangra towns.
He said that beside his mobile number, HRTC buses would also display number of Regional Manager while at fair price shops and ration depots the numbers of MD and GM would also be displayed, and same would be done in Technical Institutes.
Bali said, “Strict action will be taken against those officials whose mobile phones will be found switched off or who will not be answering the calls of public. The people can complaint against such officials to me.”
Adding, he said, “Helplines with toll free numbers will also be started in HRTC and Civil Supplies Department soon.
