DST–FICCI Workshop Highlights New Dimension in Innovation
National S&T Survey 2024–25 to Strengthen India’s R&D Ecosystem
Mumbai (Anil Bedag): The Department of Science and Technology (DST), in collaboration with FICCI, organized a workshop in Mumbai on the National Science and Technology (S&T) Survey 2024–25. The event brought together representatives from industry, academia, research institutions, and government bodies to enhance participation and strengthen India’s data-driven innovation ecosystem.
DST Secretary Prof. Abhay Karandikar emphasized that achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat requires placing research and innovation at the core of national development. He noted that the survey provides vital insights for evidence-based policymaking and targeted financial interventions. Dr. Vivek Kumar Singh from NITI Aayog described it as the backbone of science policy, while Dr. Arvind Kumar highlighted its role in strategic planning and resource allocation.
Dr. Murtaza Khorakiwala, Managing Director of Wockhardt, called the survey a reflection of India’s innovation potential and stressed the need for a robust ecosystem and stronger industry-academia collaboration.
