Jalandhar, July 27, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar’s PG Department of English and Department of History organized One Day International Seminar on First World War and Literature and a Three Day Exhibition on India and the First World War.
Prof.(Dr.) Prabhjot Parmar was the keynote speaker and also the force behind the exhibition.
The Principal of KMV Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi extending a warm welcome to Prof.Prabhjot Parmar averred that the respect for the soldiers should come from the inner recess of our heart because their sacrifices are the basis of our existence today. She also enlightened about the contribution of Indian soldiers to the First World War and averred that the youth should learn to have a sense of commitment towards society and nation at large.
The resource person Prof.(Dr.) Prabhjot Parmar explained in detail the historical facts associated with the movies and pictures of First World War. Through real life incidents and anecdotes she transcended the audience to the era of First World War. She also explained the events that led to the rise of First World War and how the Indian soldiers made a valuable contribution in the First World War. It was an enlightening and illuminating presentation. The exhibition included rare photographs, relics and important and relevant information regarding the World War I. The vividly presented photographs are sure to have a lasting imprint on the students.
The queries of the students were very well answered by the resource person.
Seema Jain, Head, PG Department of English extended a Vote of Thanks to Prof.Parmar. The members of the Student Council were also lauded for their contribution in putting up the exhibition.
