On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day, RG Hospitals, Ludhiana, organised a citywide Awareness Car Rally to sensitise the public on the critical need for organ donation and to dispel myths surrounding life-saving transplant procedures.

Ludhiana, August 22, 2026: On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day, RG Hospitals, Ludhiana, organised a citywide Awareness Car Rally to sensitise the public on the critical need for organ donation and to dispel myths surrounding life-saving transplant procedures.
The rally was officially flagged off from RG Hospital on Ferozepur Road, Ludhiana, by Chief Guest Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, Civil Surgeon of Ludhiana, alongside the esteemed doctor fraternity of RG Hospitals and post-kidney transplant patients. The convoy traversed major city routes before culminating at Hotel Rigal Blu on Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana.
Commending the initiative, Dr. Ramandeep Kaur shared her insights on the importance of community outreach in driving health awareness. She praised RG Hospitals for leading proactive efforts to educate citizens and encourage organ donation pledges across the district.
Dr. Suman Sethi, Director – Nephrology & Kidney Transplant, RG Hospitals, stressed the need for transplants. She shared how timely kidney transplants give a new lease of life to patients with end-stage renal failure.
Adding to this, Dr. Punit Bansal, Director – Urology at RG Hospitals, Ludhiana, highlighted that: “With advances in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, organ donation and transplant are now safer and more successful. We aim to bridge the gap between donors and recipients across Punjab.”
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rajinder K. Bansal, Medical Director of RG Hospitals, emphasised: “The purpose of this rally is to create awareness on organ donation across Ludhiana. Heartfelt thanks to Punjab Jeep Club for partnering with RG Hospitals to make this event successful.”
Abhijeet Singh Sidhu, Unit Head, RG Hospitals Ludhiana, said the hospital has completed 10 kidney transplants in one year. He reaffirmed RG Hospital’s commitment to serve Punjab and nearby regions with advanced facilities and compassionate care.
