Chandigarh, May 17, 2022: An awareness lecture on the topic “Awareness about prevention and treatment of urological problems and kidney stones” was delivered by Dr. Manoj Sharma, Head Urological Consultant, Mayo Healthcares and Global Healthcare at Boys’ Hostel No. 3 (Bhatnagar Hall). 

Dr. J.S. Sehrawat, Warden, BH-3 welcomed and introduced the speaker to the large gathering of audience present in the Common Room of the hostel. Dr. Sharma is one of the best urologists of tricity who is offering comprehensive urology services who have provided consultancy to more than 25 thousand patients during his last more than 20 years of expertise in the field. He discussed about various urological and kidney related problems like urine infections and incontinence, overactive bladder, urination urge, enlargement of prostrate and formation of kidney stones and cysts in the simplest way best understandable to the general public. He emphasized how changing lifestyles and food habits resulting into increased incidences of severe kidney disorders and how the same can be effectively prevented by drinking enough water on daily basis and changing lifestyle like doing physical exercises and avoid junk foods etc. After his detailed information and deliberation on the topic, he invited the audience to ask their queries and doubts about different problems, particularly myths and facts about kidney stones, dialysis and kidney failures to make the session very interactive and informative. A number of participants came forward to ask questions even after the end of the lecture. All the participants gave huge applause to the speaker to deliver a very informative and easily graspable lecture. 

Dr. Sehrawat thanked the speaker to spare his valuable time and share the information with students, staff and faculty of Panjab University on this very crucial topic. 

Dr. Sehrawat along with secretaries of different committees of the hostel (Bh-3) presented a token of memento to the esteemed speaker. 

Dr. Manoj Sharma promised to visit again for bigger audience at university level and offered consultations to residents to resolve their urologicalissues, if any.
