Draw for Ward Reservation Under Municipal Election Rules Scheduled for March 28: Deputy Commissioner

Dharamshala: In accordance with Rule 10 of the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Election Rules, 2015, a draw for the reservation of wards for the Municipal Councils of Nagrota Bagwan, Kangra, Baijnath Paprola, Dehra, Nurpur, Jwalamukhi, and Jawali—as well as the Nagar Panchayats of Khundian, Kotla, Nagrota Surian, and Shahpur—will be held on March 28, 2026. Providing this information, Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa stated that the draw for ward reservation will take place on March 28 at 11:00 AM in Room No. 823 of his office. He further informed that the notice issued in this regard will be displayed on the notice board of the Deputy Commissioner's office, as well as on the notice boards of the respective Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats, to ensure that the general public is duly informed. The draw process will be conducted with complete transparency, and the presence of at least three prominent representatives from the Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats, along with three Gazetted Officers of the State Government, will be ensured. The administration has appealed to all concerned parties to be present on time and to extend their cooperation.
