Ludhiana, March 22, 2014: Dr Satish Thaman, Member, Sub-Division Grievances Redressal Committee, Ludhiana West on Saturday inaugurated handicraft exhibition-cum-sale at Harry’s Kumra Palace, near Circuit House, here.
The event namely All India Handicraft Fair (Craft Bazaar) has been organised by NGO namely S.S.Memorial Educational Society Sri Chamkhaur Sahib District Ropar under the sanction of office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India.
The event will continue till March 31.In this event, the artisans from all parts of the country including J&K, H.P., New Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat, Andhra Pardesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, West Bangal, Jharkhand Madhya Pardesh, U.P., Manipur, Tripura, Assam and Uttarakhand are participating with their respective crafts.The buyers are free to purchase any Indian craft articles under one roof.
All India Handicraft Fairs (Craft Bazaars), Gandhi Shilap Bazaars are organised in India and abroad under Baba Sahib Ambedkar Hastshilap Vikas Yojana & Non AHVY through government and non-government agencies. The buyers get a chance to purchase the products directly from the artisans and there is no middle man in this process. The stalls in the marketing events are provided free of cost to the artisans.
