Dr S.K. Singhal Reappointed PGIMS Rohtak Director
Haryana Governor and UHSR Chancellor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh has reappointed Dr Suresh Kumar Singhal as Director of PGIMS Rohtak for a three-year term, with immediate effect.
Rohtak, August 13, 2026: Haryana Governor and UHSR Chancellor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh has reappointed Dr Suresh Kumar Singhal as Director of PGIMS Rohtak for a three-year term, with immediate effect.
After assuming charge, Dr Singhal said his priority would be to work with Vice-Chancellor Dr H.K. Aggarwal to make PGIMS one of the country’s leading medical institutions. He said efforts would focus on improving timely patient care, medicines and diagnostic facilities, while strengthening medical education, research, super-specialty services and adoption of modern technology.
Dr Singhal said special emphasis would be placed on promoting organ donation as a mass movement and encouraging more families to come forward. Efforts would also be made to launch liver transplant services at PGIMS Rohtak, reducing patients’ dependence on institutions outside Haryana.
VC Dr H.K. Aggarwal congratulated Dr Singhal and urged faculty, doctors, nursing and paramedical staff to work with team spirit for the institute’s continued growth. Registrar Dr Roop Singh, Dean Dr Ashok Chauhan and Medical Superintendent Dr Kundan Mittal also extended their best wishes.
Dr Singhal has extensive administrative and clinical experience, with 118 research publications, including 42 international and 76 national papers. He has also contributed to the development of key facilities such as the cath lab, cardiac anaesthesia, modular ICU and trauma ICU.
