Rohtak, July 29, 2026: The Haryana State Allied and Healthcare Council (HSAHC) has been constituted by the Department of Medical Education and Research, Government of Haryana, under the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2021. According to the notification issued by the government, Dr. Suresh Kumar Singhal, Director and Senior Professor (Anesthesiology) at PGIMS, Rohtak, has been appointed as the first Chairperson of this Council.

Upon his appointment, Dr. S.K. Singhal stated that allied and healthcare professionals form the backbone of any healthcare system. Various specialists—including physiotherapists, operation theatre technologists, radiographers, lab professionals, optometrists, dialysis technicians, and emergency and critical care staff—who work alongside doctors play a crucial role in patient treatment. The Council's priority will be to ensure organized recognition, quality training, and better opportunities for such trained human resources.

He stated that his priority is to position Haryana among the leading states in the country in the fields of allied and healthcare education, training, and quality standards. To achieve this, modern and skill-based training programs will be developed to provide employment-oriented education to students. The new Council will foster training, capacity building, research, and innovation by coordinating with educational institutions, hospitals, and experts. Additionally, the use of modern technologies, simulation-based training, and continuous professional development will be encouraged.

Congratulating Dr. Singhal on his appointment, Dr. H.K. Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor of UHSR, remarked that Dr. Singhal's experience, visionary approach, and administrative acumen would prove instrumental in steering the Haryana State Allied and Healthcare Council in a new direction.
