Jalandhar, March 13, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage & Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar has the privilege of receiving Dr. Robert Urban, Professor in Health Psychology from Eotvos Lorand University, Institute of Psychology, Hungary. Having worked as a Smoking Cessation Specialist and Research Manager, his research areas include adolescent smoking, alcohol use and Counseling. It is pertinent to mention that KMV and Faculty of Education & Psychology, Eotvos Lorand University, Hungary have entered into an agreement of cooperation for creating a sustainable international education partnership.
During Principal, KMV Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi's recent visit to the Eotvos Lorand University where she was invited to deliver talks, an MOU was signed between KMV and Eotvos Lorand University. It was signed by Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, KMV and Prof.(Dr.) Zsolt Demetrovics, Dean, Eotvos Lorand University during a faculty meet specially organized by the university for the occasion. Under this agreement it was decided to organize Faculty Exchange Programs which will result in the professional visits of the faculty to each campus for familiarization with their counterparts and for possible development of mutually beneficial programs.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that this particular visit by Dr Robert Urban is because of the above mentioned MOU. Welcoming Dr Robert in KMV, she maintained that Dr Robert will be staying in KMV campus for a duration of 1 month, during which he will be discussing a very influential topic of 'Motivational Interviewing' and will make the students aware that how this emerging field can be used to help the people and also to persuade them to change their unhealthy habits. She further maintained that Dr Robert will also be conducting many efficient practical exercises related to the Motivational Interviewing, and as a result the students will have a great experience of enriching their knowledge related to the vast field of Counseling. She further averred that this type of activities indicate a commitment of both institutions to work together to establish other opportunities for collaboration and exchange of resources. Such exchange of ideas are a part of the Global Education provided to the students by this Autonomous Institution, KMV.
