Dr. Pradeep won the MDUTA President Election by 105 votes
In the year 2026 elections for the MDU Teachers' Association (MDUTA), Dr. Pradeep Gehlot (UIET) won the post of President, and Dr. Mahesh Kumar (Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences) won the post of Secretary.
Rohtak, July 6, 2026: In the year 2026 elections for the MDU Teachers' Association (MDUTA), Dr. Pradeep Gehlot (UIET) won the post of President, and Dr. Mahesh Kumar (Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences) won the post of Secretary.
MDUTA Administrator and Returning Officer Prof. Wazir Nehra said that a total of 268 votes were cast. In the contest for the presidentship, three votes were declared invalid. Dr. Pradeep Gehlot received 185 votes, while Dr. Vanita Rose (Department of Education) received 80 votes; and Dr. Pradeep won by a margin of 105 votes.
Meanwhile, one vote was declared invalid in the election for the post of Secretary. Dr. Mahesh Kumar (Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences) secured 177 votes, and Dr. Sapna Sharma (Department of Forensic Science) received 90 votes. Dr. Mahesh won the Secretary post by a margin of 87 votes.
Arun Hooda (UIET) has already been elected unopposed as Treasurer, while Dr. Naveen Khatak, Dr. Anil Sangwan, Dr. Goldy Puri, Dr. Divya, Dr. Rajesh, Dr. Savita Rathi, Dr. Sapna, and Dr. Mahendra have been elected unopposed as Executive Committee members.
Expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him by the teachers, newly elected MDUTA President Dr. Pradeep said that resolving teachers' issues, protecting their professional dignity, and strengthening the academic and research environment at the university would be his priorities. He added that issues concerning teachers' interests would be strongly presented to the university administration, and efforts would be made to resolve them through dialogue and cooperation. Teachers congratulated the newly elected office-bearers following the announcement of the election results.
