Ferozepur, September 10, 2026: Dr Parminder Singh today assumed charge as Civil Surgeon, Ferozepur, with a focus on strengthening healthcare delivery at government health institutions and ensuring that patients do not face inconvenience while seeking treatment.
Officials and staff of the Civil Surgeon’s office welcomed him with a bouquet on his assuming charge.
After assuming charge, Dr Parminder Singh said his priority would be to ensure effective implementation of all government health programmes and provide better healthcare facilities to people at Aam Aadmi Clinics and government hospitals.
He said he had held a meeting with the staff to take stock of various health programmes and their implementation. He directed the staff to work with dedication and a spirit of service so that patients visiting government health institutions receive timely and hassle-free treatment.
Dr Singh also issued a stern warning to those involved in food adulteration, saying that no form of adulteration would be tolerated. He said every possible effort would be made to ensure that people get safe, pure and hygienic food items.
On the issue of drug abuse, he said the Health Department would intensify efforts to create awareness among people about the harmful effects of drugs. He also said steps would be taken to ensure that patients visiting de-addiction centres receive proper treatment and care.
Dr Singh said improving public healthcare and ensuring that patients visiting government health institutions in Ferozepur were not put to any inconvenience would remain among his key priorities.
Notably, Dr Parminder Singh began his career with the Health Department in 1995 as a Medical Officer at the government health institution at Manaawala in Ferozepur district. He subsequently served at government hospitals in different districts of Punjab. From 2004 to 2007, he pursued post-graduation in Forensic Medicine at Government Medical College, Patiala, followed by senior residency in the Department of Forensic Medicine at Government Medical College, Amritsar.
He also served as District Immunisation Officer in Fazilka and had been posted as Senior Medical Officer with ESI, Jalandhar, since 2021. He has now been promoted and entrusted with the responsibility of Civil Surgeon, Ferozepur.
