Dr. K.Saleem Ali relinquishes charge of Special Director, CBI on superannuation

New Delhi/Jalandhar, November 30, 2013: Dr.K.Saleem Ali, an IPS Officer of 1978 Batch (Manipur-Tripura Cadre) today relinquished the charge of Special Director CBI on Superannuation. He joined CBI as Additional Director on September 28, 2011 and promoted as Special Director, CBI on May 24, 2012. Before joining CBI, he was Director General of Police in Tripura.

Dr. Ali has earlier held several important positions in Anti Corruption, Special Crimes, Administration, Special Unit & other Divisions / Zones in CBI from 1988 to 1999 and 2006 to 2009 including the post of Joint Director, DIG and SP. He has been associated with the investigations of a number of sensitive cases, including those entrusted to CBI by the Supreme Court and High Courts that ended in convictions of the accused persons.

Dr. Ali has held various positions in Tripura, as Superintendent of Police of North Tripura, South Tripura & West Tripura and in Special Branch. He has served as IGP (Armed Police, Operations and Law & Order).

He has also served as IGP in Indo Tibetan Border Police at Dehradun & New Delhi. He was awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold Discs during his tenure in ITBP.

Dr. K.Saleem Ali is a Post Graduate in Chemistry; M.B.A (International Finance) and Ph.D in Conflict Management. He has been decorated with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service and the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
