Dr. Chetana Vaishnavi released four books at Chandigarh Press Club

Chandigarh, December 2, 2023: Dr. Chetana Vaishnavi released the four books titled `The Occult Thunderstorm and Other Stories’, `Kaleidoscope’, `Laugh Away Your Blues’ and `What a Joke!’ on Saturday at Chandigarh Press Club. She also released the second edition of her first book on poems titled, Reflections.

`The Occult Thunderstorm and Other Stories’ is a collection of 26 stories/articles, some of which are based on true episodes of life and others she wrote as a passion for writing during her student life with her own imaginations and with very little knowledge of the external world.

`Kaleidoscope’ is her fifth collection of poems dealing with various hues of life, right from her school going days. This book also contains a small biography of her father which she wrote at the age of 15 as a gift for his golden jubilee birthday.

`Laugh Away Your Blues’, comprises of 60 pieces of articles most of which are hilarious contents with a few serious ones, encapsulating myriad shades of life. These articles have been published as "middles" in several esteemed newspapers of North India from time to time over a period of 15 years.

`What a Joke!’ is a joke book created by the author based on happenings /incidents and that occurred in her surroundings which made her to laugh or smile.

Apart from these four books, she also launched the second edition of her book on poems, `Reflections’ which was earlier published in 1993.

Previously, she has published 12 books on poems, humour, plays, jokes etc. She is the editor of the book, `Kashmir the Gordian Knot’. Earlier, she has also produced two books for the medical professionals "Gastrointestinal Tract Infections" (Paragon Publishers, New Delhi, 2008) and "Infections of the Gastrointestinal System" (Jaypee Publishers, New Delhi, 2013). She is the Founder and Chairperson of Gastrointestinal Infection Society of India.
