The 15th edition of the Print Shree Award received the highest number of nominations in the history of the award, making this year’s selection particularly significant.

At just 37, Dr. Kaushik becomes the youngest Indian to receive the Print Shree Award. A Gold Medallist in M. Tech. Printing Technology and a Ph.D. in Printing Technology, he has published and presented more than 50 research papers at reputed national and international journals and conferences.  He has made significant contributions to strengthening industry–academia relations, serving in several academic and institutional roles. A passionate advocate of print education, Dr. Kaushik has been associated with initiatives such as “Proud to be Print Educator”, “PrintFlame” and the Print Olympiad. He has facilitated the placement of more than 500 students and provided career guidance to thousands of young people. Mr. Parveen Aggarwal, President, OPA, said: “Print Shree is OPA’s recognition of individuals who have dedicated themselves to the advancement of our profession. Dr. Bijender Kaushik’s contribution to print education, research and industry–academia collaboration makes his selection a particularly meaningful one. The record response to the 15th edition also reflects the growing stature of this honour.” He added that OPA maintains an independent selection process to protect the credibility of the award. “No OPA representative is involved in the final selection. The decision rests entirely with an eminent independent jury, ensuring impartiality and transparency.”

Prof. Kamal Mohan Chopra, Project In-charge of the Print Shree Award, said: “Dr. Bijender Kaushik represents a generation of print professionals who are successfully connecting education, research and industry. His contribution goes beyond academic achievement and includes student development, technical advancement and strengthening industry–academia relations. His selection is a recognition of sustained service to the profession.” Prof. Chopra added: “The exceptionally high number of nominations this year made the jury’s responsibility even more significant. OPA has consciously remained outside the selection process, and the independent jury’s decision reflects the merit of the recipient against the prescribed criteria.”

The Print Shree Award, instituted by the Offset Printers’ Association in 1999, honours individuals whose dedication, innovation and professional contributions have made a significant impact on the advancement of the Indian printing industry. The award is decided by an independent jury comprising eminent personalities from administration, academia and the media. Dr. Bijender Kaushik was formally presented with the Print Shree Award 2026 jointly by Prof. Vijay Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, GJUS&T, Hisar, and Prof. Kamal Mohan Chopra, during the International Conference on “AI and Robotics: Revolutionizing Printing & Packaging”, held from 24 to 26 September 2026 at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology (GJUST), Hisar.
